If it weren’t for Ryan Giggs’ 91st minute equaliser in the first leg at Old Trafford, this fixture would’ve been much, much more ominious. And it was already pretty ominous, even before Filippo Inzaghi goal-hung Juve a two goal lead in the first ten-odd minutes. But when you need a psychopath, up steps a psychopath. Roy Keane’s glancing header took the game over and thanks to the away goals rule, United were somehow in front thanks to Dwight Yorke’s seemingly clumsy, stooping header ten minutes later. With the game slipping away, Andy Cole turns up with some icing to meet Bayern Munich in the final. Presumably that was drab affair compared to this. Ahem.
