Obviously at the time, Ronaldo was the biggest, best, most famous footballer on the planet and everyone wanted to see him attempt to fulfil his destiny by winning the World Cup. After the convulsion episode, part of me was more interested in seeing his nominated replacement Edmundo try to get himself sent off like the lunatic he is. There was a sending off, but by the time Marcel Desailly saw his second yellow, the game hard largely gone. Better luck next time, El Fenomeno.
