Tottenham Hotspur 7 – 2 Southampton

A nine goal belter, you say? Don’t mind if I do. You can forgive Southampton for thinking it was their day after taking the lead twice in this one but when you’re up against the goalscoring juggernauts of, er, Chris Armstrong and… *squints* Steffen Iversen?! Ok, I think that’s probably a bit harsh. He was Spurs’ top scorer in two seasons. Which I certainly don’t remember, but there you go. A word about Dean Richards; he actually joined Tottenham the year after this game, so this really does make him look very keen by gifting them an equaliser. RIP Deano. Very sorely missed.
