Tottenham Hotspur 4 – 3 Everton

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that scoring three goals in an away match for the 2003 edition of Everton was a bit of an anomaly. If you’re going to do that, you better make sure you win. And if it weren’t for Robbie Keane, that may well have happened. In fact, the Tottenham line up on the day contained three players of Irish persuasion, which seems a lot for not being the 1980s. Steven Carr and Gary Doherty not doing a particularly good job of nullifying the Toffees’ North American frontmen. But then if you’ve got the cartwheeler up the other end doing the business, it doesn’t matter so much.
