If you want to be technical about it this was the second EUROS final the England women reached, though in 1984 the halves were only 35 minutes long and they played with a size 4 ball. And had a two-legged final. So yeah. Let’s not. Either way, they got battered here and no mistake. Only being a goal behind at half time and you’re certainly in the game. But cue a cricket-style collapse and it’s all over. They will aim for better in the rescheduled 2022 tournament, hoping home advantage helps them go one better than the men in 2021.
