Everton 3 – 2 Wimbledon
£12.49 – £49.99
Football is usually about joy (and consequently despair), but let’s have a little sit down and talk about relief. When you need to win a match to avoid being relegated and are two down within twenty minutes but eventually end up winning – that’s not joy. That’s relief. The relegation zone in May 1994 was a mess – Everton, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United OR Southampton could’ve gone down on the last day of the season. Sadly for the Blades, it was them. Hans Segers was later accused – and cleared – of match fixing. Relief all round, I would say.
